Good morning MSMS Band and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
Here’s you info for the week:
Jazz Band will have it’s final rehearsal on Tuesday morning this week, 7:15 a.m.
Marching Band Auditions for current 8th grade band members will begin this week after the spring concert on Tuesday. We will need to have these finished up by the middle of next week. We will listen to these auditions during 1st period each day.
The 8th grade percussion band members will be having their Marching Band clinic this week, Monday – Friday from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the high school.

The 2022 MSMS Bands Spring Concert is Tuesday, May 10 in the auditorium at Muscle Shoals High School. Students need to be in their designated seating area by 5:40 p.m. The concert begins at 6:00 p.m. 7th and 8th grade band members will wear their concert attire. 6th grade band members will need to dress nicely (please, no blue jeans or tennis shoes!). All instruments and music will need to go home with the kids after school on Tuesday. I will take the tubas to the high school.
Here’s the order of the concert:
- Middle and High School Jazz Bands
- 6th Grade Beginning Band
- 7th and 8th Grade Band.
We will reset the stage after the first two groups to get ready for the next group.
There is no charge for this concert. We hope to see as MANY of you on Tuesday evening!
The Alabama Bandmasters Association District 3 Solo and Ensemble Festival was held at MSMS on Saturday, April 30. We had several students perform in this event. There were a total of 82 events from MSMS Band students (solos and/or ensembles). 70 superior ratings were achieved along with 12 excellent ratings! Great job band kids!
