Student?Member cost for Dayton Trip:
Each member of the ensemble will pay $130 for this trip. This covers the three nights for the hotel. Every student, regardless if they decide to stay with parent in room, will pay the $130.
Parent room cost for hotel:
If you had me reserve a room for this trip, the cost will be $150 per night, or $450 for the three nights.
Right now, I have the exact same rooming list we used for Knoxville. If anything has changed, please let me know. I will have extra wristbands for drivers and parents who push equipment. ALl other parents will want to visit the WGI website to plan for ticket purchases.
Meals to plan for:
WEDNESDAY, two meals, THURSDAY two meals, FRIDAY two meals, SATURDAY two meals
We will purchase biscuits for every morning in Dayton.
HOTEL RESTAURANT: There is a restaurant in the hotel we will utilize as often as we can. Burgers, chicken fingers kind of meals.
CHARTER BUS: We will be taking a charter bus to Dayton. Parents, if you wish to ride the bus, please contact me and let me know. I will make a seating chart well before we leave.
Everyone:
One thing I need everyone to keep in mind. This trip is not a vacation trip, or a band trip like to Disney. This trip is a performance trip and a competition trip. The top priority is the students’ performance on the biggest competitive stage we can find for them. All my decisions regarding schedules, rehearsals, meals, and everything else will be about the kids and making sure they are mentally and physically prepared for their performances. Sometimes, this will be a huge inconvenience to you. However, the kids and their performance are my #1 focus on this trip. Please be understanding. If you anticipate the schedule not working for you, maybe driving up would be in your best interest. But obviously bus riding parents will be on the same exact schedule as the ensemble schedule. If you came on Knoxville trip, it will be alot that way. But over a three day period.
Students will not be allowed to room at another hotel with their parents. If you are at our hotel, then by all means they can room with you if you like. Also, the schedule we keep at the hotel with lights out and wake up for all students no matter what.
I do not want students checking out to go with parents during this trip. We are all together all the time. I do not want to have the extra stress of that situation. Students may check out after awards on Friday night, or Saturday morning.
