We lost it last year, but we are excited to have one this year! The band banquet is a time to celebrate and reflect on the accomplishments of our band students and band program. Not just this year, but the past 7 years our graduating seniors have enjoyed music making in our program.
This year, the banquet will also be in conjunction with REVEAL DAY, the time when we announce our competition show for the following year! This is always an exciting time for next year!
We plan to do an outdoor event centered on our band practice field in front of the tower under the lights. A stage will be set up right in front of the tower with a sound system, a projector screen for reveal day and slide show, and seniors will get a special gift from our booster organization that night.
This year, due to reveal day, all 8th grade band students will also be invited to join us at this event to help and enjoy the fellowship.
What better place for nostalgia than our band field where so many hours are spent perfecting our marching band craft! The MSHS gym will be our back up in case weather does not cooperate with us that day.
Current band students (1st or 2nd semester) enjoy the banquet at no cost to them. Our boosters raise money all year so they can provide these kinds of opportunities. All visitors such as parents, grandparents, friends and other family will need to pay for their meals. We will get a form together for the students to bring home. We encourage anyone and everyone to attend this event. It’s outside, spread out, with NO limitations to numbers. Let’s make it as big as possible!!!!!!
Banquet is my favorite time as I finally get to brag on the students and their hard work. The staff is ready to brag, believe me!
