No Jazz Band this week. We will resume those rehearsals after MPA.
Our winter concert is scheduled for Thursday, February 20th in the MSMS Gym. The start time is 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for admission. All three middle school groups will need to be in their place in the gym at 6:15 p.m. This is a required performance for all middle school band members.
We will wear our concert attire for this performance.
8th grade – the concert black (long black dress/black blouse, black pants – ladies, white long sleeve button down shirt, black pants and black shoes with red ties (we will provide) – gentlemen.)
7th grade – official MSMS Band black polo shirt (we will provide this week), khaki pants, and a nice pair of dress shoes.
6th grade – please dress nicely, as you did for the Veteran’s Day/Christmas Concerts last semester.
We should find out this week when our strawberries will be delivered. Once we obtain that info, we will pass that onto all of you.
The next installment for the MSMS Band Spring Trip to Atlanta is due by February 26. $55 per person.
UNA Middle School Honor Band applications are due this week. If you would like to be considered for the honor band, please fill out the application and place it in the Fees and Forms box in the bandroom. If a student is selected for the honor band, there will be a $55 fee per person. The dates of the honor band are March 19th-20th. Students will not miss any school on the 19th, but they will be out of school all day as they will be in rehearsal on the 20th. The concert is the evening of the 20th at 7:00 p.m.
Shoals Area Honor Band is March 13th-14th @ MSHS. More info to follow as we get closer.
We had 8 MSMS band students participate in the ABA District 3 Middle School Honor Band. They gave a wonderful concert yesterday afternoon in Russellville. Congrats to those who were are a part of it!
