Info for 2/10 through 2/14

Jazz Band will meet Monday and Wednesday this week. 715 am – 745 am. Make sure we have music to both “Wayfaring Stranger” and the “Star Spangled Banner”. The jazz band will perform at the MSMS Black History Month Program on Thursday, February 13. The time of the program is 8:30 am in the gym. Jazz Band members need to wear their black MSMS Band T-Shirts and jeans.

If anyone has strawberry orders that they didn’t turn in last week, we must get those Monday of this week. We have to call in the order in the next few days. We are asking 3 flats per family or a $30 fair share.

We can take spring trip payments at any time. Just place those in the Forms and Fees box in the bandroom.

District Honor Band is this weekend at Russellville High School. I will be giving schedules to those students who are involved. Make sure all of you have your concert attire for the concert this Saturday afternoon.

Our winter concert is scheduled for Thursday, February 20 in the MSMS Gym. This will be an opportunity for the 7th and 8th grade bands to get a trial run in on their MPA music. The 6th grade will also play. 7th and 8th grade band members will be in full concert attire at this concert. 6th grade attire will be nice attire, much like the Veterans Day or Christmas concerts.

Students, this is an important week. The days are ticking down until your MPA performance. By Thursday this week, we need to feel even more comfortable with the music that we are now. We have made some great strides, yet more work remains. No detail is too small. Let’s keep getting better.

Come tomorrow, be ready to get after it.

Seay you all in the morning.
