Jazz band will meet Monday and Wednesday mornings this week, 7:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
A small group of 8th grade band students will be going to play for the residents of Brookdale Assisted Living on Friday morning this week. This will be part of the MSMS Service Project Day. The students who will be performing will be the 8th grade band members out of Mrs. Rye’s homeroom. They will be bused over to the assisted living facility around 10:00 a.m. and will return to the middle school around 11:15 a.m.
This week will be our final big push of preparation for our Christmas Concert. The concert is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3 @ MSHS Stratford Auditorium. This concert will consist of all middle school groups as well as the high school bands. I have encouraged all the students to take their instruments home over the Thanksgiving break and run over their music a few times before coming back to school on December 2. Please encourage your children to practice their music over the break. We want the concert on December 3 to sound as good as possible! We have made great strides on our music in a very short amount of time. We look forward to seeing everyone on December 3!
All students will need to dress nice for this concert, much like we did for the Veterans Day Concert. Please, no blue jeans or tennis shoes.
The MSHS Trojan Marching Band will be playing at the football game this Friday night, November 22. This is the third round of the State Football playoffs and the game is here in Muscle Shoals. Come out to the game and cheer on the team, the band, and all involved! It will be an electric atmosphere as there are only two local teams playing at home this week (Mars Hill and Muscle Shoals). It will be packed out!
Looking forward to a great week! Seay everyone in the morning!
