So unbelievably proud of these students! What a wonderful group to work with. The staff is pleased with their efforts so far and we can’t wait to see where we go from here.
We still have pictures this afternoon. The students are to be at the band room at 1:40. The guard and majorettes are to be in costume and the band members should be wearing athletic shorts, band t shirts, and black socks. Students without band shoes should wear black shoes and can borrow shoes when they get here. If you want to order pictures from rivercat photography send the form and check with your students today. These pictures should start to wind down around 3:00 hopefully.
After pictures, students are able to rent their school hallway lockers that are located in the music hallway. We start with seniors and go until they are all done. See Mr. Madden after pictures to get the lockers. (these are not the band room lockers, these are the red hallway lockers)
The staff has decided to start our after school rehearsals the week of August 5th. We will not rehearse 3:30-4:30 on the Thursday first day of school. We will however rehearse during the 4th block.
We want to send a sincere “THANK YOU” to our band boosters for the wonderful lunches you provided. I cannot explain just how grateful we are and how important those meals are to the success of our band camp. Thank you for all the work that went into preparing the meals as well as taking the time to be here to help serve. Thank you Thank you Thank you
Our first BOOSTER meeting is Monday August 5th. I look forward to introducing our new parents to the group and getting our season lined up. All band parents, PLEASE consider coming regularly to these meetings. We promise they will be short (30 minutes usually). While many stay after and visit, our business meeting is usually 30 minutes (7:00-7:30). We want to welcome freshmen parents, but we also welcome other parents who haven’t plugged in before. Simply put, WE NEED YOU. Your kids need you. The band and booster organization needs you. It is so much more then just working in a concession stand. It’s taking your strengths and plugging into the group somehow. Boosters literally are the life blood behind the scenes that make most everything possible for our kids to have what they have. Please, consider helping and be a band booster! Every kid in our band program benefits from the booster organization, including your child. Please, help!
