Info for the Week of 10-19 through 10-23

Good morning MSMS Band!

First let me say that we are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school tomorrow! It’s going to be great to be able to be back together again. The directors are ready to get back to person to person teaching.

The 7th and 8th grade band played very well at the community performance this past Tuesday. I am encouraged in the fact that although we missed so much class last spring, coupled with starting late in August, and being out this past week, the kids still sounded great! It will only continue to improve as we go day by day and week by week. We will switch gears this week as we make the transition out of pep band back to concert band.

Thank you to everyone who came out to hear the kids perform. I think we had more people at the band event on Tuesday night than there were at the high school football game Friday night! Awesome parent/community support! Thanks again!

6th grade is moving along and we look forward to seeing all of them on Monday, too! Parents, please keep encouraging your children to practice. It is so important that they work on their material at home. It may not sound that great now, but I promise you, it will improve.

Our fundraiser turn in date is tomorrow, October 19. We need all the moneys and forms turned in when the kids come to class in the morning. If you were unable to sell the 5 items (per family), we ask that you please pay the $40 fair share. Once we get everything turned in to the company and our order is placed, we will be notified of our item delivery date. I will let everyone know ASAP once that info is given to me.

I would like to make everyone aware of another band performance opportunity involving the MSHS Trojan Marching Band and the UNA Marching Band. On Thursday, October 22, both of these groups will perform at James F. Moore Stadium. This event is open to the public and I would like to encourage everyone to come out and both groups perform. The start time is 7:00 p.m.

We are ready to get back at it! I hope all of you have had a nice weekend.

Seay you all in the morning!
